*ABRAHAM LINCOLN ~ Workmen carry President Lincoln's coffin from the sepulcher room in the tomb after his coffin was opened + his identify was confirmed by a select group of people Sept. 26, 1901. Robert Todd Lincoln, the president's oldest + only surviving son, insisted on modifications to the redone vault. After making the changes in the summer of 1901, which involved the addition of a steel cage and cement enclosure, the president's remains were moved for the last + final time.
