Brevet Brigadier General William Harvey Gibson- Gibson was the 49th Ohio Infantry's commanding officer throughout the U.S. Civil War. They fought in 42 major battles. Gibson had 3 horses shot from under him at the Battle of Shiloh.
William Harvey's discoveries were one of the final straws in destroying the influence of Galen (pictured), whose theories were false. He also lead Europeans to use scientific experimentation in order to use evidence for their theories.
