Mannerist Perfume Bottle German, late 17th century, formed as a pilgrim’s bottle, ribbed, encased in elaborate silver strapwork mounts with complex, often obscure symbolic devices in the Mannerist vocabulary, young female semi-nude as finial to screw cap, unmarked, 10-1/2 in.; notebook of research material accompanies this item moderate wear, professional repair to one side of strap work, good condition considering age. Provenance: Creech Collection, North Carolina
