Al Wallace joined FOX 4's sports department in May 1985, and just celebrated his Silver Anniversary with WDAF, Kansas City's oldest television station. Al graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in telecommunications. In March of 1998, the Kansas City Globe honored Al as one of the "Most Influential African Americans" in Kansas City.

In preparation for Thanksgiving, Texas Tech University’s Collegiate 100 student organization partnered with the East Lubbock Community Alliance to provide individuals and families with free meals. On Nov. 22, churchgoers from the Difference Makers Fellowship Church, located on Buddy Holly Avenue, provided the Thanksgiving feast and served food with Collegiate 100 to more than 200 individuals and families in East Lubbock.
