Seldom seen Art Deco "Skyscraper" wooden RCA model 115 tube radio made circa 1933 by RCA Victor Co. This radio has a great stepped skyscraper shape, symmetrical design, beautiful colored wood and concentric circle knobs. This wooden radio has none of the usually heavy detailing found on the majority of antique wooden radios. Cabinet styling clearly shows the departure in design from the ornately carved faces of previous wooden radios.

The thermosetting plastic Bakelite was ideally suited to mass-production techniques, and Ekco (E. K. Cole Ltd.) pioneered its use for radio cabinets in Britain. This is the Ekco SH25 broadcast receiver of 1932. Very stylish speaker grill!
