Excellent condition excavated 12  lb. canister base plate.  This is an item that we recovered quite regularly back during the early days of relic hunting.  But it's a huge signal and almost all have now been recovered, and we rarely find one any more.  This excellent example was found about 40 years ago in the front lawn of a private residence along Manson Pike just across the street from the Stones River National Battlefield and within 400 yards of the famous "Slaughter Pen".
