Do you ever have a student that just needs to get out of the room for a minute and get a new perspective? Give them "The mysterious envelope" to deliver! This is brilliant!

Program Board with Media Center Helper ideas.   Helpers - to be named...  Put slips in pockets with name of "helper" activity they can select when they come to help in the media center.  Examples:  Shelve Books  Straighten Shelves (have sections listed)  Dust Shelves  Sharpen Pencils  Clean Tables  Book Level in E books (with PERMISSION ONLY)  etc.

Help Wanted bulletin board. Pockets with classroom job descriptions. Write student names on craft sticks and place them in appropriate pocket. Fun and easy way to switch up student jobs throughout the year.

Self-Assessment Strategy- students use cards to indicate how they are progressing through the independent practice. This allows the teacher to intervene when necessary and gauge students' understanding of concepts.

In the beginning of the year, make a few bags with everything you will need for a new student. Later in the year, when one arrives, everything will be in one place.

Secret Student - pick a student each day to keep a close eye on. During the day say you are checking on your secret student and the class will correct their behavior in case they are the secret student

My teacher uses a Noise Meter similar to this one. The Noise Meter is a cool way to remind students the correct noise level that they should be using! You just use the paper clip and move it to the appropriate noise level the students should be using.

I am definitely doing this because sometimes a data wall just doesn't give students enough of a push!

Homeworkopoly Classroom game-neat idea is a great way to get homework incentives and completion. It is not to elementary and still provides students with a few get out of jail free cards for those times when life just happens.
