For teachers: Do you ever have a student that just needs to get out of the room for a minute and get a new perspective? Give them "The mysterious envelope" to deliver. (I like the "mystery student" idea too)
Positive Behavior Management Classroom Bulletin Board Idea
Help Wanted bulletin board. Pockets with classroom job descriptions. Write student names on craft sticks and place them in appropriate pocket. Fun and easy way to switch up student jobs throughout the year.
Self-Assessment Strategy- students use cards to indicate how they are progressing through the independent practice. This allows the teacher to intervene when necessary and gauge students' understanding of concepts.
new student packets. the teacher makes 5 extra of everything at the beginning of the school year so that when a new student comes midyear, she has a name tag, beginning of the year info, labels for folders/journals, etc. for the student.
My teacher uses a Noise Meter similar to this one. The Noise Meter is a cool way to remind students the correct noise level that they should be using! You just use the paper clip and move it to the appropriate noise level the students should be using.
Homeworkopoly Classroom game-neat idea is a great way to get homework incentives and completion. It is not to elementary and still provides students with a few get out of jail free cards for those times when life just happens.
