I like this prediction pin because it includes a section for re-predicting. After the students make a prediction, they should think back to their original prediction and analyze the differences. The students should monitor, question, and re-predict in order to, "use new information in the text and prior knowledge about that information to make new predictions" (Duffy, p. 109).

My third graders and I worked on making predictions these past two weeks. I began by reading aloud the book Suddently! by Colin McNaughton.
