The children of this era have also lived in horrible conditions. There working conditions were deadly and the pay was minimal. Due to their small bodies, they were ordered to climb up hazardous machines or fit through small faces, both having the risk of death. Disease was also prevalent and their work hours were around 16 hours a day.
