1935 brown satin, bias-cut evening dress with machine-stitched quilted decoration. The boyish figure of the 1920s was replaced in the 1930s by more feminine curves revealed by close-fitting styles. This was achieved by cutting the fabric on the bias and diagonal seaming.
This stunning woman is the subject of this gorgeous photo. She employs a certain grecian flair with her hairpiece and whatnot. A lovely necklace, too. Lily Elsie, I believe. Obviously a very rich woman.
