Petunias protect beans from beetles and oregano chases them away from cucumbers. Geraniums keep Japanese beetles away from roses and corn. Potato barrels are the most space efficient way for growing potatoes. They are easy to grow on large simple beds with cardboard hay and manure too, but since we're limited on space I think the barrel is the best option!
