One Day Without Shoes. Would be good to do around the actual day, also to be used to talk about the easy way to do community service (Would be great to include lots of other easy ways to serve as well)
Shoeless children bear other burdens beyond obvious health and safety issues. In many schools throughout the developing world, children are required to wear uniforms and shoes. No shoes means no education, a consequence that compounds the physical hardships of going shoeless.
It is illegal and unsafe to go many places without shoes. So...why would people walk around barefoot all day long today? Millions of children in the world have no proper footwear for ANY day of the year, and this is the day set aside to draw attention to that! Every Day Is Special: April 10, 2012 - One Day Without Shoes
