If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we would find in each man`s life a sorrow and a suffering enough to disarm all hostility. ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Breathing in I know that anger is in me. Breathing out, I know this feeling is unpleasant... Breathing in, I feel calm. Breathing out, I am strong enough to care for this anger. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Each time we go out, the world is open and free; it offers itself so graciously to our hearts, to create something new and wholesome from it each day. It is such a travesty of possibility and freedom to think we have no choice, that things are the way they are and that the one street, the one destination, the one role is all that is allotted to us. Each one of us, like the birds is an artist of the invisible. ~John O`Donahue Daily Quote

As one matures in spiritual life, one becomes more comfortable with paradox, more appreciative of life`s ambiguities, its many levels and inherent conflicts. One develops a sense of life`s irony, metaphor, and humor, and a capacity to embrace the whole, with its beauty and outrageousness, in the graciousness of the heart. (Stephen Levine)

Staying with the changing qualities of anger in the mind/body, the words in the mind, the images, the denseness in the body, we discover under all this anger a deep sadness. Omitting nothing, the investigation continues into the sadness, all the moments of not having, all the frustrated griefs of a lifetime, and beneath that sadness we discover an ocean of love beyond our woldest dreams. ~Stephen Levine

Yet the uttering of the world reveals how each of us relentlessly creates. Everyone is an artist. Each person brings sound out of silence and coaxes the invisible to become visible. ~ John O`Donahue

Perhaps the biggest tragedy in our lives is that freedom is possible, yet we can pass our years trapped in the same old patterns....We may want to love other people without holding back, to feel authentic, to breathe in the beauty around us, to dance and sing. Yet each day we listen to inner voices that keep our life small. (Tara Brach)

The human heart is never still. ... There are always new thoughts and experiences emerging in your life; some moments delight and surprise you, others bring you onto shaky ground. ...The mind and heart are wanderers who are always tempted by new horizons. ... Your longing frequently takes you on inner voyages that no one would ever guess. ...longing keeps the door open and calls towards us the gifts and blessings which our lives dream. ~John O`Donahue

One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire.... Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do. ~ Clarissa Pinkola-Estes
