Postage Stamp Quilt, 1930-1940's feedsacks, 76 x 79", 1" squares. See Oh Fransson's method of adhering squares onto a thin adhesive backing and then folding to do the quarter inch seams. Could create all of the colorful squares this way up to a white HST on the edge, and then sew to a white block of the desired size. Should make this a lot faster to assemble.

what makes this one so special, is her use of vintage cross stitch and embroidered pieces worked in with vintage feed sack fabric. Great way to use up otherwise ruined hand work!

This block is new to me. Log Cabinesque but good for shorter strips. Value placement here is random...might make a nice alternate block w/applique blocks

Mothers and young women sewed lovely dresses from feedsacks in the 40s. It was an early way of practicing what we now call "repurposing."
