This would be a great activity for students to do on the day we cover our lesson on eclipses. After the lesson the students will be able to do this activity in groups in order to review what they have learned.
A solar eclipse project we did based on the News 2 You article we read this week. Just glue a yellow sun to black construction paper. Then create a black moon and attach it by poking a hole and using a fastener. Voila, you have a moveable moon for a solar eclipse. It was great for fine motor skills, as we cut out each individual ray for the sun. My class suns are pictured at the bottom.
