The entire student body came out to watch the show. Each of the 4th grade classroom teachers; Miss Gustafson, Ms. Herbert and Mrs. Dreibilis climbed into the ladder bucket with firefighter Mike Jernstrom and about a half dozen cardboard boxes packed with the precious pumpkin cargo. The students then counted down and chanted “drop it, drop it.” One at a time the containers were dropped over the side of the bucket and landed forcibly on the playground. #WDAPlymouth #PlymouthIndiana

Applications for Project Based Learning classroom environments in the Plymouth Schools will be open on Sunday, January 25 at 6:00 P.M. on the Plymouth Community School Corporation website- www.plymouth.k12.in.us .  Applications will be for placement in August 2015.  This is open to students in grades K-10. Current PBL learners do not need to apply. Washington Discovery Academy 2nd grade students took a field-trip to the Plymouth Mayor’s Office on Thursday.   Mayor Mark Senter met with students in the Common Council Chambers and spoke about our local city government and our city history.   The WDA second graders are learning about their community government, how government works, as well as learning about important people in the community. This project is also covering the history of Plymouth.

The class assignment was to write their holiday wish list to Santa! They are pretty confident that Snowflake, the classroom “Elf on a shelf” is going to take the letters to Santa for them. :) #WDAPlymouth #PlymouthCSC_IN

Fourth grade students at Washington Discovery Academy conducted their annual 2nd Pumpkin Drop Thursday morning, part of the SLED (Science leaning through engineering design) program. Teams of students were challenged to pack a 5 to 6 pound pumpkin in a cardboard box with packing materials of their choice and then dropping the container from 80 feet up in the air using Plymouth Fire Department’s aerial truck. #WDAPlymouth #PlymouthIndiana

WDA collected 690 lbs of food for our kindergarten and second grade food drive! The donation was given to the Bread of Life food pantry in Plymouth. Thank you to all of our students and their families for all of the nonperishable food items that made this Thanksgiving week donation possible! #PCSCweCARE #WDAPlymouth #happythanksgivingeveryone
