THE ANDREWS SISTERS ~ (L-R) Maxene, Patty,, and LaVerne. They were the most popular girl group in America, at the time. Patty, the youngest, was energetic, loud and blond, and she headed the group with her confident vocals. The middle sister, Maxene, was a brunette, whose harmonic range gave the impression of 4 singers. LaVerne was the eldest, and completed the trio. She was a strong-willed redhead, with a witty sense of humor.
