For her wedding on May 6, 1960, Princess Margaret chose a gown designed by Norman Hartnell. The bride wore a white silk organza dress with a short train, a Claude St Cyr of Paris veil and the Poltimore tiara. They were styled as the Earl and Countess of Snowdon. They had two children, but the couple divorced in 1978. Snowdon remarried, but was divorced again after it was discovered he fathered a child with another woman. Princess Margaret never remarried, and died from cancer in 2002.
