To turn this 1929 Wisconsin lake cottage into a luxurious home, designer Carleton Varney used bold colors throughout. In the foyer, the classic design is jazzed up with black-and-white striped walls and a zebra print runner on the stairs.
I would use this concept as a headboard for the collectibles we just can't part with or whatever in a small space. I'd balance it with another mirror and place lamps in front on small night chests. Painted would be awesome!
Gorgeous arches, windows, and light in this back foyer leading out towards the backyard. Pale yellow walls enhance the feeling of sunny airiness, and that black bench is the perfect grounding foil. A beautiful hallway.
