You're Only Young Once (1937) is the second Andy Hardy movie, with Lewis Stone permanently replacing Lionel Barrymore as Judge Hardy, and Mickey Rooney appearing as his son Andy. MGM replaced Barrymore and Spring Byington (with Fay Holden), since were too expensive for the sequel's modest budget. This past holiday season I asked my kids to pick a Christmas movie for the family to watch. This is what they picked. The "good vs. evil/any average American can whoop a terrorist" moral is as satisfying as it is simplistic.
Mary Poppins/Bert Loving the complimentary flares of red and white in both costumes. Mary's bodice works perfectly in accentuating her skirt and I love the band of scarf round her hat. Bert's boater, on the other hand, is darling!
