USEPA Scientists at Work: Managing Sewer Overflows with Green Infrastructure: When it rains in the 800 US communities with combined sewer systems, then it pours sewage into surrounding waterways and ocean waters. Watch how the EPA, as with other water and ocean protection groups, are using green infrastructure to minimize sewage overflows to keep our freshwater and beaches clean.
CMG: Conger Moss Guillard | SERRAMONTE LIBRARY STORMWATER GARDEN This library entry is a demo garden of stormwater management best practices. The garden functions as a 5,000 sf bio-retention treatment basin that cleans 120,000 sf of runoff from the parking area. Native wetland plants, adapted to flooding and drought, uptake local pollutants. The system protects the building from seasonal flooding, reduces volume + pollution impacts, + provides an attractive garden for an active civic place.
