Unless you’re allergic, peanuts are a delicious snack that provide a lot of nutrients. But what if we told you that there is more to the peanut than initially meets the eye? Put a dish of cocktail peanuts in front of us and we’ll consume the entire bowl without even realizing we started. We’re only human. But do we really know what we’re eating? If you’ve ever slowed down to crack a peanut in half, you’ll notice a little nub inside (and if you’re smart, you’ll pull it out and eat it…

There’s not a day that passes that we don’t have a new reason to suspect humanity is dying off. Scientists have warned of the ‘sixth extinction‘ for decades, but now there is at least one man who believes an ostensibly beneficial innovation — sex robots — could lead to the human race getting screwed. This is not a Terminator scenario. If humans begin spending the majority of their intimate hours with sex androids, they will reduce both the energy and biological resources needed to…

"You’re on the no-fly list," the woman at the kiosk told me. It was a Wednesday, six years ago, at Midway Airport in Chicago. I was traveling to Spokane, Washington, for my job as a dog trainer. I had absolutely no idea how I could have ended up on the No Fly List. I waited for Ashton Kutcher to come out and tell me I was being Punk’d. No luck. At least 30 federal agents swarmed me. They didn’t handcuff or manhandle me, but the sheer number of them was intimidating. I was in a state of…

Three boys in Missouri fell through the ice and into Lake St. Louis last winter. By the time a rescue team arrived, one of the boys had managed to almost get himself to shore, while a second boy clung to the edge of the ice. Those two boys were rescued and treated for hypothermia immediately. The third boy, however, was unable to be seen. He had been trapped under the ice, and underwater. Fourteen-year old John Smith was pulled from the water after about fifteen minutes of submersion…

Juravinski hospital in Ontario, Canada allows pets to visit their seriously ill humans. The hospital adopted a program called Zachary’s Paws for Healing, launched by Donna Jenkins. She was inspired by her 25-year-old nephew, Zachary, who benefited greatly from having his dogs around him while he was battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma. “While Zachary was in the hospital for many weeks and very sick after having a stem cell transplant, he begged to see his dog, Chase,” Jenkins told Bored Panda. “We…

Acronyms are all the rage these days. In fact, so much so that tweens and teens can practically have full-blown conversations using acronyms only. The influx of the many symbolic acronyms are due to the popularity amongst texting in today’s day and age. Expression such as Rolling On The Floor Laughing, Be Right Back and Laughing Out Loud, are some of the many acronyms that have made their way into the human language. Who knows…maybe one day we will be having full conversations in capital…

Though easy, initially, to call fake, a Hollywood prop or whatever, the above artifact was seen by us in person recently in Cusco Peru. It was presented to us, along with a small mummified elongated humanoid skull and body by a local person. X rays of the “hand” (below) show that each of the 3 fingers has 6 bones, while a human hand has 3. Once again, as with the skull, physicians in Cusco determined that clearly this is not the hand of a human, but is made up of bone and skin. They were…

When Donald Trump moves from his office in Trump Tower to the Oval Office in the White House on Jan. 20, he’s going to be bringing a very interesting wall decoration with him. According to Politico, friends of Trump have said that the president-elect has told them that he plans to hang a letter from former President Richard Nixon from almost three decades ago in which the nation’s 37th chief executive told the billionaire real estate mogul that he could win any office he ran for. The…

An elderly Virginia couple that has gone to McDonald's for decades was reportedly asked to leave a restaurant in Culpeper, Va. because, as the manager apparently told them, their “half hour up.” The McDonald’s manager is said to have approached Barbara and Carl Becker around 2:30 p.m. The incident has not only sparked outrage, but has also given rise to the question of whether the store really does have a 30-minute sitting limit. No answers have been obtained from either management or…
