Toronto's top interior designers use soft colors, architectural lines and natural light to create balanced interiors that are clean and classic with an understated elegance - much like the city itself.
This staircase uses high quality wrought iron balusters to create a unique craftsman style design. Featured is the double bar square baluster (16.6.1) and the plain square bar (16.2.1). These balusters are stocked in hollow or solid wrought iron, and are available in a Satin Black or Ash Grey powder-coated finish. These balusters are paired with industry standard wood components. We supply a variety of stock parts, custom material, and exotic wood. Click the image for more information.
At the Stella Journey home we removed the carpet on the stairs, installing full oak treads and a new oak starter step. We then painted the risers, added new 1x8 oak caps on the balcony rails, and refinished the newel post and railing to match the wood flooring. Only then did we install our PC18/1 and PC18/2 wrought iron balusters with old world copper finish.
A motif that runs throughout the collections is repetition. Stripes, perforation, organic shapes, and geometric patterns carry a predictability and natural symmetry that make the overall designs balanced—even when covering a substantial surface area. A complicated stair railing can be dramatic and evocative; the repetition adds harmony and texture to this space.
