The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola. I think of this as my first experience of greek/Shakespearian style tragedy. Brilliant dark cinematography too.

Sweeney Todd (2007): Revenge is a staple of the genre. And this horror-opera makes the most of it with Johnny Depp (singing) in Tim Burton’s adaptation of the long-running Sondheim musical. Despite the many embodiments that have come before, Burton’s Todd is both faithful and innovative, beautifully recreating the grimy cobblestones, and even grimier characters, of Dickensian London. Love and madness, envy and wrath – it all gets sorted under the razor’s bite. SCARE FACTOR: 5/10 | Rated: R

Meet Me in St. Louis ~ Starring Judy Garland and Margaret O'Brien. Today June 10, would have been Miss Garland's 90th birthday. There is no way I could let the day pass without pinning some of her movies. This is one of my favorite Judy Garland Movies.
