Caramel in Crockpot: One un-opened can of sweetened condensed milk. Take the paper off. Place the unopened can in a crock-pot. Completely submerge tin water. Cook on the 'low' setting for 8 hours (lid on). Take the can out. Keep unopened. Dry it off & let cool down in the fridge for at least 2 hours before opening. Cooling the can is the key. You will have delicious caramel to dip apples in, drizzle on desserts... Enjoy !
DIY: Homemade "Dulce de Leche" * It’s deeper, richer, and thicker in consistency than caramel and is fantastic in frosting (or this recipe), over ice cream, as a dip for apples or pretzels, as a filling in cupcakes or cookies, swirled into hot chocolate or a latté, spooned into mason jars for Christmas treat packages (it does need to be refrigerated though!)
