Russian Princess Lobelia - Vivid spikes of magenta flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies and are excellent for cutting. Glossy foliage emerges red in spring, turning burgundy to bronze throughout the season.
Vitex / Chaste tree -Grows well in Texas. Deer will not touch it, drought will not droop it and if it gets too tall you can cut it back hard since it blooms on new wood. Looks amazing mixed in with grasses and Knockout roses.
