Today is World Malbec Day...Who knew?? So our Wine Wednesday Spotlight is on Malbec. Malbec is often described as a Merlot and a Shiraz that bumped into each other. You get the best of the ripe fruitiness of Merlot with the spiciness and power of Shiraz. We have Malbec from Chile and Argentina, as it tends to be a new world wine. If you have never tried a Malbec...today could be the day!
Wes Welker ~ he looked so much better in Patriots blue than donkey dork uh, I mean broncos orange!
Todays wine for the Wine Wednesday Spotlight is Valpolicella! This is a lovely Italian style wine with a delicate bouquet and a rich texture. Fragrant and fruity. The addition of oak enhances its aroma.
Wednesday Wine Spotlight is on Domaine des Brumes. A refreshing, easy drinking red wine with aromas of ripe berries and floral notes. On the palate, flavours of strawberries and cherries, revealing a slender texture, smooth tannins and a medium finish. Ideal with a variety of fish and fowl, while elevating the flavours of sauces, stuffings and side dishes. It chills down nicely and is a great option in the summer when you don't want to drink white wine
Have you ever added vodka to a watermelon? This recipe takes it one step further. Hollow out a watermelon, then add a spigot. Fill the melon husk with punch and serve. I love this idea for a of July party. Minus the vodka so the kids can enjoy.
