The Ocean at the End of the Lane: A Novel by Neil Gaiman: this slim novel was a bit hard for me to get into. It's not as unique as his other books like American Gods or Neverwhere, so it was harder to overlook his writing style.

P C Cast - young adult parthalon books, curious if this is any good

This story was very engrossing, I had a tough time setting the book down. It takes place in a farm community. A young couple and their children settle down and try their hand at farming. A horrible accident involving a neighbor's child sets off a chain of unstoppable events that just roll forward like a train.

A Map of the World by Jane Hamilton A harrowing, heartbreaking drama about a rural American family and a disastrous event that forever changes their lives
