William IV (William Henry; 21 August 1765 – 20 June 1837) was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of Hanover from 26 June 1830 until his death. William, the third son of George III and younger brother and successor to George IV, was the last king and penultimate monarch of Britain's House of Hanover.

King William IV (Willam Henry Hanover), born August 21,1765, died June 20, 1837.  He was the King of United Kingdom from  June 1830 till his death in 1837. He was the 3rd son of King Georg III . He was responsible for many reforms in U K. his two daughters did not survive him. Hence King William IV was succeeded by his niece Queen Victoria.

In royal terms Victoria won the lotto since her Uncles - the sons of George III - had trouble producing heirs. She succeeded her Uncle, WILLIAM IV - King from 1830 -

William IV (1765 - 1837). Son of King George III and Queen Charlotte. He married Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen and had two daughters who died young.

Queen Adelaide attended the dying William devotedly, not going to bed herself for more than ten days. William IV died in the early hours of the morning of 20 June 1837 at Windsor Castle, where he was buried.
