THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED February 1959 I remember few events of national or international significance from my prep school days.

Feb 03, 1959.... rising American rock stars Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson are killed when their chartered Beechcraft Bonanza plane crashes in Iowa a few minutes after takeoff from Mason City on a flight headed for Moorehead, Minnesota. Holly and his band, the Crickets, had just scored a No. 1 hit with "That'll Be the Day." So sad I can't even believe it, till this very day!! But what icons and forever rock n roll legends Xoxo F

Buddy Holly: the real king of rock n roll! (as I suspected, this is actually John Mueller, a rockin', very friendly, perfect Buddy impersonator, not Buddy Holly himself)

Buddy Holly died On February 3, 1959 in a small-plane crash together with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. That day is still known as "The day the music died". Sometimes I wonder what other beautiful songs he would have made if he hadn't died at age 22. Weezer named one of their songs to him.
