Looking down on the former Central of Georgia rail yards* in Macon is the champion of Georgia coaling towers.

The coaling tower at Macon, GA was one of the largest coaling towers in the state. It has a massive concrete coal chute and was located near the Macon shops. It coaled steam locomotives as small as to huge It is still standing, but abandoned.
