1951. Great photo. A Jaguar (DNF) is about to pass an American, factory-entered Crosley "Hot Shot" (#59). Sometimes the tortoise does beat the hare. Crosley Motors (existed 1939-52, made in Indiana, USA) was coming off a good year. The Hot Shot won the inaugural 6-hrs, at Sebring (New Years Eve, 1950) beating out two Ferraris (2nd & 4th place), a Fiat (3rd) and a bunch of Cadillac Allards, MGs, Aston Martins and Jaguars. Unfortunately at LM a bad alternator took it out after 5 hrs.
