Vinyl’s Mix hair salon by SIDES CORE, Japan. Japanese design collective SIDES CORE has developed a renovation plan to reconfigure an existing hair studio. The ‘Vinyl’s Mix hair salon’ transforms the existing layout into a workshop that exercises user and spatial modification. Based off the idea of a bookstore, the space serves as an avenue for promoting discussion, influenced by traditional barbershops.
I paint a lot of pallet signs and I share a lot of them on Weekend Craft but I have recently realized that I haven't shared my technique for how to paint crisp lines when stenciling a pallet. It's such a simple trick that can save hours of either touch up or completely redoing a sign. Nothing is worse than cutting the wood, assembling the sign, cutting the vinyl, and painting only to pull off the stencil and see that the paint had bled through the stencil.
We love this quirky upcycling idea! Take some old drawers, given them a lick of paint, cover the bottoms in d-c-fix® sticky back plastic and use them as shelves! A completely individual look for your home that doesn't cost the earth but will be the envy of all your friends. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=me%3DAI8JZZJY5E2W8&field-keywords=346-0648
