Martin Ross, my grandpa, immigrated here in 1956 by boat. He came here because of the many job opportunities and for the adventure. He had to leave behind his friends and family in Scotland for this opportunity though. He got the money to come her from immigration offices which he had to pay back after he settled in Canada. He was amazed by the size of Canada, but disappointed in the initial lack of work. He found work and settled in Vancouver, BC and lived his dream of living in Canada.
