A large seal which ran amok in suburban Launceston on Boxing Day morning was eventually ‘secured’ by Tasmanian police, but not before leaving its mark on a car in Newstead, climbing on the bonnet to leave large dents and a broken windscreen in its wake. The wandering seal evaded capture for some time, roaming the streets of Newstead, with authorities warning the public not to approach the marine mammal to avoid agitating it.<br><br>
