Have you ever wondered how avocados grow? Next time you cut open an avocado, save the seed and grow an avocado tree. This is a great project for the summer with the kids.   Step 1: Remove the seed  Step 2: Push in 4 wooden picks Step 3: Fill a clear glass with water and immerse the bottom of the seed in water.  Step 4: The seed will sprout in 2-8 weeks.  Step 5: Once the tree stem grows 6-7 inches tall, cut it back. Step 6: Water the tree regularly
