Bubble wrap was invented by two engineers, Al Fielding and Marc Chavannes, in New Jersey in 1957. They first created it as wallpaper, by sealing two shower curtains together and letting the air bubbles remain between them. The wallpaper didn’t sell, and next it was marketed as greenhouse insulation. Three years after its creation, bubble wrap was finally used for packing. Click the image above to learn more.
