The Battle of the Bulge Ardennes (16 December 1944 – 25 January 1945) was a major German offensive launched toward the end of World War II through the densely forested Ardennes mountain region. Near complete surprise against the Allied line and dense fog gave the Germans an early advantage. The Allies were reinforced with air support and defeated the Germans.
