Custom Mateba Unica 6 A very odd for it’s time design, the Mateba’s barrel is positioned lower than a traditional revolver. It came chambered in .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .454 Casull. It sounds like a Japanese name but it’s Italian. This one has a fairly tasteful engraving job done. Quite rare in the U.S, it can fetch up to $3,000 to $4,000. The Mateba would later go on to influence the Chiappa Rhino.
Mateba Unica 6 The Mateba did come with a compensator and was either a matte stainless steel or deep blued finish. There was also a carbine version with a 16” barrel and stock. I’ve only seen one of those carbines for sale and that was 3 years ago.
