Not at all. It is asking why, if I am going to be dead in a week, why go to work today? If atheists are right, the end of everything is the end of everything; at that time nothing we have done will make a difference
This is one reason why keeping religion - ALL religion - out of government is important. And government neutrality on the issue of religion is NOT the functional equivalent of promoting atheism. It is the government taking no sides on the issue of religion, so all may make their protected choice.
I love Ricky...a bit too snarky for me sometimes, because I think people should believe in a god if that's what they need to believe in, but I've thought this very same thing all throughout my adult life.
The term God is ambiguous. God is love, god is everything that is good, when a world of bad happens and a little bit of good pops out, that's God. Believers have to get out of the mind frame that they dont control their own destiny or the living that there is a plan when honestly there isnt. there are a very many minds, personalities, and imaginations to feed and all of them cant agree on the unfathomable.
