Despite its name that reminds of the savoury flatbread so typical of all our bakeries, schiacciata alla fiorentina is a sweet cake, fragrant with orange and vanilla. During Carnival time it appears in every bakery, pastry shop and bar in Florence.
Crème Brûlée - Cooking Classy (Yumm! Very rich and very sweet (maybe cut the sugar a bit next time?). Next time, skim off the foam before baking. Also, broiling in the oven does not work very well. They tasted great, but looked pretty terrible)
