Toru Takemitsu (武満 徹 October 8, 1930 – February 20, 1996) was a Japanese composer and writer on aesthetics and music theory. Largely self-taught, Takemitsu possessed consummate skill in the subtle manipulation of instrumental and orchestral timbre. He drew from a wide range of influences, including jazz, popular music, avant-garde procedures and traditional Japanese music, in a harmonic idiom largely derived from the music of Claude Debussy and Olivier Messiaen.

Juilliard Alumni Profile of the Month, June 2015: Finn Wittrock. I already pinned the picture but the article with it is great too. Fun fact: He drives Mrs. Wittrock to work when he's not acting. AWW.

Entering Juilliard to study Voice with a career in Opera. Particularly those of Wagner. Has a secret thing for Rhine Maidens. Would be more than willing to play a Niebilungen just for the chance hobnob with them. Takes all kinds, but has a voice made for Wagner. Wagner was a first class all round ass/hole but wrote some beautiful music.
