It is so awesome to see how photo manipulation can work in a piece. I love how they made the explosion of smoke the same color as the body to really touch on the illusion of the face blowing up. It gives the image and uneasy feeling.

Strips from an article in a magazine. Cut out in the shape of buildings and mountains and painted with watercolour. They will be part of a mixed media piece in a traveling art journal about international mail.

This is a cool idea for a long canvas showcasing all the places the Navy has sent us.except I think I would use old maps to cut out the skyline / buildings.
