1926 Yerkes Plan by Radford - American Builder Magazine - Vintage small house plans - Colonial Cottage The Yerkes model was published in American Builder in 1926. It's a sweet, traditional cottage with Colonial Revival styling and a few elements like the eyebrow dormers to give it a little extra character. A basement provided much needed space for mechanicals and storage.
1926 Portland Homes by Universal Plan Service - No. 586 This Colonial Revival cottage was a particularly popular style during the mid-1920s. This one has a number of nice features including a circular floor plan and breakfast alcove. There is easy access to outside from the kitchen. Note the presence of the icebox on the landing to the stairs; the fridge was still a fantasy for most families. At over 1200 sqft, this was a larger than average home.
