One of our most popular recent projects were these live edge black walnut shelves mounted on industrial look steel pipe brackets. We are often asked if the bark will stay on the live edge pieces. Our answer to this is that we can't guarantee it will stay on but we do our best to give it a chance. This can involve using polyurethane or epoxy over it to harden it further or even carpenters glue to secure loose pieces. It is said that the time of year the wood is cut affects this also - wood cut in
