Celestial Twilight I On July 2nd two other photographers and I decided to go for the shot of the Milky Way rising over Mt. Rainier. We initially planned to setup shop on Sourdough Ridge just above the Sunrise parking lot but quickly realized we would have to get higher to have any chance of Mt. Rainier emerging from the clouds that seemed to keep on coming and going sometimes fully obscuring the view. The was taken from Sunrise point of Mount Rainier (elevation The mountain was lit by moon rising from the opposite side. The meadows were lit partially by moonlight and partially by my headlamp.
