Greek Goddesses - Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry is housed within the last remaining structure from the Chicago World's Fair. The Palace of Fine Arts, the Museum’s current building, was constructed in 1893 for the World’s Columbian Exposition, which opened the same year. The original, Greek-inspired structure includes three pavilions and Ionic order columns.
Marble base of a funerary kouros (naked youth) with relief representations from Athens, made probably of Parian marble. 510-500 BC. It was found in the Kerameikos, built into the Themistokleian wall.
