Coverdale Farm, School students and participants in seasonal programs learn about the farm cycle of life, the origin of food and natural fibers, the significance of living soil, and our dependence upon soil, water, plants and animals for survival. Close-up, hands-on experiences will be provided with the use of livestock including cows, chickens, pigs, sheep and others.
Montreal artist Judith Dallegret fell in love with rugs many years before becoming a rug hooker. “I spent the summers in my great-grandmother’s home by the sea in Nova Scotia. It was a magical place with gas lamps, an outhouse, water from a spring, beautiful gray-mauve walls, sheep in the yard, a cold cellar, a pantry with mice that got into the jam, an organ to play, and on the floors, beautiful rugs hooked by grandmother Charity Ross.
