Madagascar by 4 Hands Brewing (Milk Stout) This lusciously thick, inky stout’s brewed with vanilla beans and aged in bourbon barrels. The aroma’s a dead ringer for a chocolate malt with rich dark chocolate, vanilla and coconut swarming to the nose.
Shmaltz - Bock Bock (Bourbon Barrel-Aged Bock) Judging by the aroma, I was expecting this to be an overly-sweet, cloying brew. Right away the palette emerges with plenty of confectionery character: molasses, brown sugar and vanilla. Though not exactly vinous like wine, there is a fruity juicy component to this palette. The backend has the familiar bourbon flavor found in famous barrel-aged imperial stouts of wood, vanilla and alcohol.
Last Leaf - classic English Brown Ale brewed with several different malts, hopped with East Kent Goldings, and real Virginia maple syrup. The maple aroma, with subtle vanilla notes, leads into a rich and smooth body with a malty character [drank on
