Picnic on the beach with the ducks

PhillymanPete posted a photo: Most of my Wood Duck shots are of the ducks swimming in the Wissahickon Creek. Rarely would they come out of the water to perch on the rocks. My last outing, I saw them perch on the rocks for the first time, preening and sunning themselves. This female was sunning and looking pretty for the available bachelors in the flock. She looks quite proud of herself if you ask me! View large for detail. Thanks for all the views, favs, and comments. Only a few more duck…

PhillymanPete posted a photo: Of course animals do not have emotions like humans, but if you look closely it does look like at tear is coming out of this Wood Duck drake's eye! Obviously just water running off the ducks head given the downward pose of the neck. What a fantastic weekend photographing these beautiful ducks. I will be posting a few more images in the coming days from my time spent with them. It is Monday and back to work! Enjoy the day~!

Kate La Vie - Dressing table/vanity make up storage room tour. I love the desk/table, I love that it isn't white. Kates styling is always on point, using that hint of pink with the duck egg blue is just beautiful. And lets just take a moment for that mirror shall we. Major heart eyes over here!

The duck is about 18 cm (7 inches) from foot to head. It is worked in spiral. The body has some custom rounds. I put a lot of photos of the finiched duck and some while working. I recommend that you use some yarn with acrylic. See more information in my blog.

PhillymanPete posted a photo: Well, I went to the Wissahickon Creek this past Saturday for the THIRD time to photographer Wood Ducks. This time I went with my good friend and superb nature photographer Ray Hennessy. Our goal was to shoot back-lit Woodies in the early morning light. Both the light and the Woodies were very cooperative, and we walked away with a tremendous number of shots. I will now be continuing my Wood Duck series with back-lit or other creative lighting shots. I call this…
